Subject: 2026 Budget Information
Dear Residents and Taxpayers,
On behalf of Council, I am pleased to share an overview of the Town of Tisdale’s 2026 Budget. This year’s budget reflects careful planning, responsible financial management, and a continued commitment to maintaining essential services while investing in our community.
The 2026 budget is balanced, with total revenues projected at $11.5 million and total expenditures at $11.48 million, resulting in a modest surplus of $25,486. While both revenues and expenses have decreased compared to 2025, expenditures have been reduced at a greater rate, demonstrating a prudent approach to managing municipal finances.
Your tax dollars support a wide range of services that contribute to the safety, well-being, and quality of life in Tisdale:
- Recreation and Parks (22%) – parks, programs, and community facilities
- Transportation Services (21%) – road maintenance, snow removal, and infrastructure
- Utilities Services (17%) – water and sewer
- Environmental Services (11%) – waste management and landfill operations
- Public Health and Welfare Services – health and social support
- Protective Services (7%) – fire, policing, bylaw enforcement and emergency response
- Planning and Development (4%) – land-use planning, economic development and community growth initiatives
Council remains committed to balancing today’s needs with long-term planning. Strategic use of reserves, infrastructure investments, and support for community growth initiatives ensures that Tisdale remains a strong, vibrant place to live, work, and do business.
We recognize that any changes to taxation can impact households and businesses. Our goal is to deliver services efficiently while maintaining transparency and accountability in the use of your tax dollars. If you have any questions about the 2026 budget, please do not hesitate to contact the Town Office.
Sincerely,
Lovely Jane Magnaye, RMA
Chief Administrative Officer
