These yards are in violation of the Nuisance Abatement Bylaw. No person shall cause or permit a nuisance to occur on any property owned by that person or permit the land to be overgrown (in excess of 15 centimeters) with grass or weeds. Please report any nuisance yards during business hours by calling 306-873-2681.

Our Bylaw Enforcement Officer is also driving around town to inspect nuisance yards. Aside from untidy yard and overgrown grass, he is also looking for the following:

Dilapidated Buildings (Section 6)
Unoccupied Buildings (Section 7)
Junked Vehicles (Section 10)
Open Excavations (Section 11)
Outdoor Storage Materials (Section 13)
Refrigerators and Freezers openly stored in any yard (Section 14)
Fences (Section 15)

If the person is found in contravention of this Bylaw, the Designated Officer may require the owner or occupant of the property to remedy the contravention. The Town of Tisdale may take whatever actions or measures are necessary to remedy the contravention. Any unpaid expenses and costs incurred by the Town in remedying the contravention may be added to the taxes on the property on which the work is done.
