Permanent Employment Opportunity
The Town of Tisdale is seeking a permanent employee to support both the Public Works and Utilities Departments. This position will primarily assist with the water meter replacement project and gradually expand into water, wastewater, and public works operations.
Duties and Responsibilities

Work primarily outdoors year-round

Assist with water meter reading and replacement, including coordinating access to private homes

Train in water and wastewater operations, including daily checks and testing
-
Participate in on-call rotation once trained

Assist with routine, scheduled, and emergency maintenance
-
Perform physically demanding tasks such as shoveling sand, gravel, clay, and mud
-
Operate small equipment (sander, thawing machines, line painter, packer, street sweeper)
-
Work in open excavations and wet or muddy conditions
-
Work near heavy equipment and lift/carry pipes and valves
-
Assist with snow removal as required
-
May be assigned temporary duties at the regional landfill

Perform other related duties as assigned
Work Schedule
-
Regular hours: 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Additional hours, early starts, night shifts, and weekends may be required when on call
Training & Development
-
Opportunity to obtain water and wastewater operator certification
-
Opportunity to upgrade to a Class III driver’s license with air brake endorsement
Qualifications
-
Valid minimum Class 5 driver’s licence
-
Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
-
Ability to perform physical labour in varying weather conditions
