The RECplex – Short for Recreation, Education, Culture, Community Health and Cumberland College.

This joint use / partnership facility first open in 1978 as an elementary school – grades 2 to 6 with an auditorium / gymnasium. The auditorium / gymnasium was jointly finance by the Town of Tisdale and the Tisdale School Division. The auditorium kitchen is fully equipped to serve 500. 

In 1982 the recreation component of the RECplex opened with a six sheet curling rink with lounge, a 900 seat skating facility with an ice surface of 85’ x 200’, large commons area with concession, 3 meeting rooms on the second level, the Tisdale Wildlife Federation operates a small bore shooting range with meeting room in the lower area.

The RECplex expanded again in 1997. The elementary school changed from a Division 2 facility to a Division 3 & 4 school with gymnasium, Cumberland Community College offices and classrooms, Kelsey Trail Health Region – Public Health nurses offices & clinic, a school / public library and performing arts theatre

The RECplex Corporate Partners are the Town of Tisdale, North East School Division, Cumberland Regional College, and the Kelsey Trail Health Region.
